WA Cricket and Metropolitan Junior Community Cricket (MJCC) are hosting a series of Season Information Nights.
These connect with coaches and team managers across the Junior Cricket stages for discussion around match day responsibilities, format setup and rules, player rotations, heat and concussion guidelines, and learning opportunities throughout the season. These nights are designed to answer questions, alleviate uncertainty and help coaches and managers connect with the people that they might see across the upcoming season.
For Stage 1 coaches (Year 4 and Year 5 Boys, Year 4-5 Girls, Year 6-7 Girls), there are in-person session at the WACA Ground on Monday 7th October or Tuesday 8th October from 6:30pm. These sessions are encouraged for new coaches and people in their first season of junior community cricket and anyone who is curious or unsure about how Week 1 of the cricket season might look.
The nights will include key information about the upcoming season with an opportunity to practice setting up a field and going through the motions of game day.
The WACA Ground is accessible from Gate 8, on the corner of Hay St and Braithwaite St with some free street parking available on Nelson Cr and paid parking in the Queens Gardens carpark. You will be welcomed at the gate by our brilliant security staff and redirected to the Boundary Room, which is accessible by stairs or a lift. Please wear comfortable clothing and shoes as we will be venturing out onto the field.
The presentation will also be livestreamed (and recorded) on Microsoft Teams so you can join us live online, or at a later date: Stage 1 Meeting Monday, Stage 1 Meeting Tuesday.
For Stage 2 and 3 coaches (from Year 6 Boys to Year 10-11 Boys, Year 8-9 Girls and Year 10-11-12 Girls), we are hosting an online meeting on Thursday 3rd October at 6:30pm which can be accessed at this link: Stage 2 and 3 Meeting. This session will be recorded for anyone who cannot join live, but the benefit of dialing in is connecting with other coaches and managers who are in a similar context and having questions answered live.
